Avi Azulai is the co-founder and was the Group Managing Director of iTouch Plc. until March 2005. iTouch was a publicly listed company on the LSE (ITU.L) that focused on providing information and entertainment to mobile users in over 20 countries with over 500 employees. iTouch was purchased by For-side.com for $362m in May 2005. In March 2006 Avi co-founded Vista Diagnostics Ltd., an MRI patient centre, which was sold 3 years later to the InHealth group. Prior to iTouch, Avi has held a number of positions in the information technology and online information systems industries. Avi holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and has a Diploma in Management from Henley Management College (UK). Today Avi is the chairman of Blackbay & a senior partner at Medvest UK LLP.
Nigel has extensive experience of enterprise mobility solutions and strong relationships within the market. Nigel joins Blackbay fresh from his position as Vice President at Sybase where he managed and led the Sybase enterprise mobility business in Europe. Previously, he was VP Europe for mobile specialist Pointsec where he drove significant market growth. He also served as Vice President World Wide Mobility for Extended Systems, another mobility specialist software company. Again he grew the global business and was instrumental in the sale of Extended Systems to Sybase.
Emil is a Partner at Albion Ventures LLP, a leading UK venture capital investor. He joined the board of Blackbay in April 2006, following Albion Ventures' £3.5 million investment in the company . Emil has been a venture capital investor since 2000, initially with Albion Ventures' predecessor firm, Close Ventures. Prior to that Emil worked at KPMG's corporate finance division in London, where he acted on M&A and fundraising mandates across numerous industry sectors. Former CEO of New Zealand Post and Former Executive Deputy Chairman of Royal Mail. Currently an independent advisor to the postal sector, Elmar has extensive experience as a national-post executive and a track record of innovation in mail-services diversification and entrepreneurship. Elmar served as chief executive of New Zealand Post from 1993-2003, during which time he successfully diversified its business base and led the establishment of a new, full-service retail bank, Kiwibank Ltd., as a fully-owned subsidiary. In that period the New Zealand postal market was fully liberalised and was the focus of intense competition which accelerated innovation and productivity growth inside New Zealand Post. In March, 2003, he was appointed Executive Deputy Chairman of Royal Mail Group PLC in Great Britain and became chairman of its management board. He left Royal Mail in late 2004 to form his own consultancy; in that same year, he received the Industry Leadership Award at the World Mail Awards in Berlin. Elmar also serves on the supervisory board of Deutsche Post DHL, the world's leading logistics group; as chairman of Postea Inc, a technology innovator, as chairman of the supervisory board of the postal consultancy Message AG; and as a non-executive director of Blackbay Ltd., a market-leading mobile-solutions services company.
