Blackbay Engineers Go on the Road
 

Last year we sent our engineers out on the road. We wanted to combine our solid approach to engineering with a new found understanding of the way our software is used in the field. The result is our new range of vehicle cradles for handheld computers

By engaging with all the stakeholders from the IT manager to the driver, we were able to remove some of the headaches that are associated with new technology to produce a cradle that is fine balance between the requirements of the IT manager and the driver.

The new cradles include a range of improvements over alternatives, as the drivers and IT managers have very different needs. For the driver these include modular mounting options, full three dimensional adjustments, one-handed quick insert and release, small size and most importantly a tough and reliable cradle. One the other hand, the IT manager needs a cradle that allows for migration of handheld devices without having to install new cradles.
