The environment gets tougher - Navigating successfully through difficult times
The world is experiencing significant economic turmoil. Predictions are that many economies in Europe will experience a real recession for the first time in many years. 2009 is for many even more difficult than 2008, and who can predict 2010 and beyond?
Traditional business models are therefore being challenged as never before. The success of national postal operators, and all mail, parcels and express companies, depends very directly on their customers' business success. And their customers are everyone! None of us can therefore expect to be immune from the effects of any economic downturn.
Very appropriately, therefore, the headline theme for the World Mail and Express event in Munich is 'The Environment Gets Tougher'. The two-day conference will focus on finding ways of 'Navigating Successfully Through Difficult Economic Times', which is the supporting theme.
As well as hearing from a range of thought leading speakers at World Mail & Express Europe, delegates will have the chance to develop existing relationships and forge new ones in an extensive social programme designed to encourage networking.
Blackbay will be exhibiting with Intermec as a key partner at this event. We will be demonstrating our postal mobility solution as well as providing valuable insight into the solutions we have delivered for our customers including Royal Mail, Australia Post, DHL, DPD Ireland and New Zealand Post.
Blackbay board member, Elmar Toime will be chairing the session on Thursday May 7th at 1100 on Avoiding the Shipwreck - industy experts share their view on how the economic challenges will impact up on postal, parcel and express business, and how they need to react.
